Mission Quilt for Grandma and Grandpa Johnson!

So my parents Kim and Pam are serving in the Temple in Finland for 2 years and Christmas 2009 was their first Christmas away from home so my sister Jamie and I decided to make them a picture quilt to put on their bed in their apartment in Finland. So Jamie printed to pictures on some fabric, I pieced the top together with Dorene's help with the embroidery and then we gave the top, batting and back to our dear friend RaNae and she quilted the whole thing together for us. I don't have pictures of it with the quilting done but here it is all pieced together.

My oldest brother Chris and his family! With their favorite scripture.

A picture of Mom and Dad at a park in Finland.

My older sister Jamie and her family with their favorite quote from Pres. Monson.

My older sister Betsy and my oldest niece Ali with Betsy's favorite scriptures.

Kev and me with our cuties and one of our favorite sayings.

Mom and Dad in front of the Helsinki Finland Temple.

My older brother Peter and his family with their favorite scripture.

Here is the whole family, excluding Mom and Dad. It is so great to see how many great people have come out of the Eternal Union of my parents.

So we completed the quilt and sent it to Finland with my oldest brother Chris, he was an attending physician at the ski jumping competition in Finland so he got to go and visit. And my parents have thoroughly enjoyed the quilt, it seemed the perfect gift to give them.
